Think I'm gonna buy one, will I regret it?

Nope.  I think they are a damned nice revolver.  I'll eventually get one, but I wish they came in 9mm.

I'd like to see them in 9mm too.  I've been looking at them lately. They are very lightweight and the trigger seems to be better than the other snub nosed revolvers I've looked at.  The only bad thing that I can think of is they are not supposed to fit a lot of holsters for "J-Frames."

That was/is a concern of mine, but I want it for console carry for my wife so I'm not sure if that's an issue for me...

why 9mm?  Would 9mm perform better than .38 in this size package?

Go for the LCR in .357 Magnum, friend.   You'll like it!
I did a lil' review over here: http://sigforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/430601935/m/2140016722

Aside from the fact that the "monolithic frame" on the LCR-357 is constructed from steel (as opposed to aluminum with the LCR-38), you'll also have the option of using either .38 Special or .357 Magnum loads in the same piece.
Sweet lil' shooter, BTW.  Here's a pic of a 10-shot group I fired at approximately 7 yards with Magtech 158 gr. SJSP...

Absolutely.  As of right now there are only 2 JHPs that make IWBA/FBI standards.  None of them are approved by your dept.  On the other hand, there are several 9mm loads out there that perform very well in short barrels.  Your depts 9mm load is one of the best, if not tops in the country.

We authorize the 158 grn +P Lead Hollow Point in .38, I carry it in a 642.
Is there a 9mm cal for this gun on the horizon?

Is that considerably heavier than the .38 model?  Does the .38 modely handle +P?

I just read your review, 3 oz isnt that much more.  How much more is the 357 than the .38?

Oh, I know the .38spec duty load is the 158gr+P LSWCHP, from Remington last I checked.  However, from a sub 2 inch barrel it isnt going to expand when it encounters soft barriers(fabric).  The only 2 that meet IWBA/FBI specs are the 135gr+P Speer GDHP, and Corbon 110gr+P DPX.  DPD burned tbridges with ATK, and I dont think they want to trust CB.

As for a 9mm revolver, I dunno.  I know I'd love to have one!  Ammo commonality is huge for me seeing as I provide the ammo I shoot.  Its been rumored that S&W might bring one out, but I havent heard anything further than rumors and speculation.  If Ruger and S&W can make .357mag version od these lightrweight revolver, they can certainly handle (mm pressures.

If you think its worth it, talk to some of the folks you know that carry a revovler.  Bring it up to the bean counters, explain that it will save money, see if Ruger or S&W cant be talked into it.  A big dept like DPD can make a big impression, just look at the old DPD version of the Welen Code 3.

Yep, about a three ounce difference in weight.   Well worth it for the LCR-357's steel frame, IMO.

I ordered my LCR-357 from Bud's, and paid $434.00.  They normally sell the LCR-38 for $398.00, so there's only a $36.00 difference between the two models.
