I am thinking of buying a Champion G.I.  Any thoughts on this? I like the full size 1911 SA's I own, but I think a short slide pistol would be great for carry. Plus, you cannot own too many anyhow. Thanks.

Think Colt LW SS DEFENDER. I have both the Champion and the Defender. I'm dumping the Champion, any questions? Seriously, the defender is 10x as reliable as the champion and I did not need to dink with it and replace crappy parts. BTW, want to buy a really nice GI Champion? It finally works now, mostly.

Great! I just bought a used SA Champion in like-new condition. Just picked it up from the transfer dealer this morning but I haven't had a chance to shoot it. I hope it's reliable. It won't replace my primary CCW however, a Glock 23.

If it whacks you in the face with brass, replace the ejector, mine came with a shorty[normal]and they should have the extended ones. Hope yours does not have a glued in ejector and has a pin instead.

Grandfather has a colt defender. Been a great gun. I just picked up a Kimber stainless ultra carry II. Nice gun. Brass doesn't hit me in the face either.
