Ok, I may just be very very stupid today and missing something very obvious.. but i figured id ask..

I recently got a sig P229 and have been playing with it a bit. Today I took it out and was checking out the single action reset by charging the slide, pulling the trigger, keeping the trigger all the way to the rear and then racking the slide again.....but when i rack the slide the second time to simulate firing, every now and then the hammer will follow the slide forward....  It seems that if i pull the trigger all the way to the rear and hold it there the hammer will follow the slide about half the time...if i let the trigger move forward slightly just before racking the slide the second time the hammer engauges most of the time...

im not sure if im doing something stupid or what.....my 92AF's [only other DA/SA i have to compare] hammer stays to the rear 100% of the time when doing the same exercise.

sooooooo am i dumb or is there a problem lol ?

Something is wrong. The Hammer should stay back 100% of the time and the trigger should reset. I hate to tell you this but Sig's Quality these days is aweful. Ever since 2004 when Ron Cohen took over as Sig's CEO their quality went way down. Call them up and see if they will send youa shipping lable for a trip back to the factory to fix your gun that should have never left the factory. Good luck and keep us posted.

I believe they are original, they look like sig grips..but who knows lol this is my first sig so they are kinda alien to me.

I just picked up a new P226 the other day and had the exact same issue. I called up SIG's customer service folks, and they e-mailed me a UPS next day air shipping label. Seeing as they're paying shipping, I had them put in an SRT trigger while it's at the factory.

Anyways, I don't see you having an issue with SIG fixing it. All they asked me for was the model, serial number, and what was going on. They never asked if it was new or used.
