what is the going price new for this? TIA Perry |
| From a gun store that I went to, they had one in the range of what a brand new Colt AR15 Sporter would cost. Probably around, 1500 to 2000, if I remember correctly. One thing that I didn't like when I held the rifle was the grip, also it is a very large and awkward fire arm. Also the selector switch is in the worst possible place, to turn it to fire I had to actually turn the rifle to the side and remove my hand from the forearm to deactivate it.. I would say just skip it and buy a AR15 or a Springfield M1A rifle. |

Brand new=$1,100 to $1,200. I paid 1100. The selector, awkward? Ya OK. This is a SPORTING rifle. It is not meant to compare to an AR15 or the like. You were told to buy an AR. DO. Buy both. I did. This is because I don't drive screws with hammers or put diesel fuel in my V-10 or use my SL8-1 as an AR. I am hardly getting started with load-development and have pulled less than 1 minute with open-sights and .312 @ 100 yards with the scope with see-through mounts. I know that finer tuned handloads will narrow this down. Oh, by the way, ARs, AR kits and all associated goodies are being pumped out by the thousands with no curtailment in sight. The LAST of the SL8-1s are HERE and NOW. No more are comeing. Last chance Jackson! The price only goes UP from here. Go to GUNSUSA.com and go for a NEW one while you still can. A year from now the USED ones will go for more than a used one now. |
| If the assault weapons ban does not sunset, and those two bastard congressmen get there way, you can say good by to anything that looks like a semi automatic firearm. AR15's, what little HK models, AK47's, Springfield M1A's, and all the rest will cease to exist here in the US. |
