I am going to get my daughter a SR22. She has a 10/22 too.
She like the muddy girls sr22 and the raspberry one too. i found a descent deal on a used sr22 with 6 mags. Is it difficult to dissemble the frame so I could cerakote it? |

I'm not one to get into a pissing match... This is directly off Ruger's site.. "Other SR22® features include a stainless steel replaceable barrel, an ambidextrous manual thumb safety/decocking lever" ...it's a safety, that can be used to decock the pistol. My FNP45 has a decocker. And it's still backwards from most every other safety. It's still a good little pistol. I enjoyed mine. But when instructing a newer shooter, consistency is key. Here's a hotlink for the above. I glanced over it, it seems to have some interesting, well thought out info. I'll give it a full over after I get home. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_5_4/164861_Beginner_Shooter_Info___Not_For_Experts___How_To_Set_Up_A_New_Pistol_You_Got_For_Christmas.html |

Labels are funny.
SIG P220 / S&W 1076: lever down, decocks, rises by self, fires-- a pure decocker. Walther PP/PPK/P38 S&W XX XXX XXXX series of autos. Beretta 92 series: lever down, decocks, user rises, fires DA, combo safety and decocker. 1911 pattern: lever up, safety on, lever down, safety off: a pure safety. Ruger Standard Autos too. SR22P: down to decock, user rises it to fire DA. I guess I don't have trouble with labeling it a decocker even though when down it acts like a safety in the same manner the slide mounted levers decock when down and fire DA when backup. What it is opposite of is the 1911s. Best point would be you better understand what you are shooting. Few things are consistent. There are other systems besides these. |
