I went to the range today and while shooting my slide stop spring came disconnected. So I went home took it all apart, reconnected the spring and reassembled. I put the 10 round mag in and it inserts, catches and ejects fine but the 17 round mag has to be smashed to lock into place (this is also without the finger extension). Then when hitting the mag release it just stays in and is tough to get out. All this is done with the slide locked open. It must be binding somewhere and looks to be identical to the 10 rd mag. The 17 rd mag worked fine at the range so something must not be correct when reassembled. The 17 rd mag also moves about a quarter inch up and down while smashed in, the 10 rd doesn't move at all.

I also read your previous post on this issue.

I purchased a SR9c just over a week ago. I've been the the range 3 times before this trip and fired about 300 rounds through it without any issues(besides my terrible aim). These were all various ammo types; 50 wolf, 150 brown bear, 100 remington umc. Today I was shooting more Brown Bear, after my first box the slide would lock open after each shot. I think it might be this box of ammo, maybe its underpowered. I should've tried cartridges from another box I had on me but didn't think of that until I was almost home. I clean it after every trip to the range and field stripped and cleaned during the range today without success. If anyone has any suggestions please advise. Otherwise I'll try Georgia Arms 9mm when it comes later this week and give Ruger a call.

I figure it out. The slide stop spring came disconnected, now im trying to reconnect it and its a pain in the ass.

Even though you have identified the issue, you may want to call Ruger customer service anyway.  It seems strange that your slide stop spring would become disconnected after such a low round count.  I did a quick Google search and your problem doesn't seem uncommon.  Ruger may want you to send back the pistol for repair.  My guess is something is out of tolerance.

I called them last night and had it overnighted to their AZ facility. Good customer service but hopefully no more issues with it.
