I'm 50; I remember when all stainless steel autos first became popular they had problems galling and jamming. I've been thinking heavily of buying a Colt SS 80 series 1911-have all the bugs been worked out of all SS autos, particularly the Colt?

In my experience, yes. Buy with confidence.

Yes, galling is a thing of the past and has been for a long time. Now go buy that 1911 and enjoy the many benefits of a stainless gun.

Thanks for all the replys. I was secretly hoping for negative comments to discourage me from spending the money. Now I must have one.
