| Anyone have any experience with steyrs series of pistols they look interesting. they any good? |
Yes and yes, but cornhole might chime in to tell you how bad they are. I have both the M9 and M40 they are excellent shooters, but since I got into 1911 this is no other weapon that comes close to the mighty 45ACP The M9 and S9 can be had for low 300.00 this is an excellent weapon for the money. You will not be disappointed |
Some hate 'em, but I loved the trapezoidal sights. And the most natural grips I have seen yet. I haven't bought one yet, was waiting for the new model MA1 to become mainstream to see how it did. |
| Fine weapon ,and don't let the price fool you .I have 3 ,m40,m.357,m9 and other than the sights they are as good as the H&K Usp,SIG229,AND SIG2340 I have. (let the flames begin) try one and you wont regret it .and as a bonus I modify 14 round $14.99 S&W Sigma mags to work in the m40 and m357 just make a new mag catch hole and bingo . you shoot one and you'll buy one. |
.40 cal S&W Shitma mags work?!?!? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Best news I've heard since 02 November! wganz ¶ |

I bought a bunch of standard cap mags from CDNN through an LEO liason....which were then held for me until the ban sunsetted....payed all of 9 dollars a pop for them. Now my Steyr M9 is back up to the capacity it was MEANT to tote. and aside from all of that...it is my all time favortie pistol. |

Here I go making a bad name for myself after only 3 posts... ;) I've put a few mags through an M40, and I didn't like it. The trapezoidal sights were fine, but the gun is just so top heavy. It just didn't balance very well in my hand. Also, the recoil is a bit snappier than I'd like due to its low weight, but I wouldn't necessarily call that a "con." |

Fantastic guns......I own 6 of them: 2 x M9's, 1 x S9, 1 x M40, 1 x S40 and 1 x M357. he Go over to Glocktalk's Steyr Club; you'll find an enthusiatic group of Steyr lovers there. |
Excise Tax? |
| Apparently I'm in the minority here but the grip just didn't feel right to me. I liked most of the gun and especially the sights but the grip angle was too raked back. If you like the Luger or Ruger Mark II feel it's a solid gun. I do wish I could get those sights for one of my other guns though. |
