I called on Thursday to find out when they would ship my order, it was ordered last December. She got back on the phone and said, "how about we ship it today." The mail man delivered my box this morning. I ordered a type 2 slide for my STI 2011 frame, adjustable sight and fiber optic front, along with 2 extra mags. It`s not a cheap item, price wise or as was quickly obvious quality wise. It is very nicely made and finished. The adapters the mags fit in to take up the space of the double stack grip is indeed very well made. A quick trip up the road with some targets and a pile of CCI mini mags to try it. They recommend a few different types of ammo, but admit they test them with mini mags. It shoots as good as it looks. I put about 300 rounds through it and no problems. It fed, fired, and ejected every shot. One of the mags was a bit tight to drop free, a few quick taps with a mallet on the bottom corner cured the problem. It wouldn`t drop from my other STI, so I knew it was a mag problem. I only shot from about 25 yards and it will make a group you could cover with a quarter. Good enough for me. Except for the 3 month wait, it is a nice, well made option to practice with. |
