| Was having some problems with ammo not really feeding too well into my SW 1911. I called S&W up and after briefly asking what problem I was having, they told me they'd send me an overnight FedEx shipping label and to send the firearm back to them for inspection. So while I'm not happy with the way the gun was performing, the customer service so far seems great. I'm just wondering if anyone else had similar problems with a SW1911, and how it was resolved. Thanks. |
| I used three types of ammo, I forget what the first company was (it was a couple of boxes I got when I purchased the firearm), then went through about 500 CCI blazer (230 Grain FMJ) and a couple hundred Wolf (also 230 grain FMJ), yeah after the round would fire, the slide would not come back completely into battery and I'd have to give a good whack on the mag plate for the slide to go all the way forward again (magazine problem maybe?). It wasn't happening all the time, I'd say roughly 5% - 7% of the rounds that I fired. I own a few other Smiths and have always been happy with the quality, so I'm pretty confident they'll take care of it. |

yeah I was thinking this as a possibility as well, and was a little surprised they didn't even ask me over the phone what ammo I was using or anything, so I figure if they'll pay for me to ship it and take a look at it, might as well just send it to them, its not my carry weapon, so as much as my safe misses it, I can live without it for a little while. Oh and I appreciate your willingness to take it off my hands for me. |
| mine ( jrd 3XXX) had 2 to 4 ftf's per mag out of the box. after 500 rounds called s & w. they sent a return box (believe it was ups). sent it to them along with some cartridge casings and letter of explnation of the cartidge to be fed not sliding up under the extractor far enough. had it back in less than a week; flawless since. my conclusion was that the extractor was a little too tight; not allowing cartridges to slide far enought under the extractor to allow the cartridge to enter the chamber. i really don't know what they worked on but it came back flawless. mcole |
