Just ordered a new VP9 OR pistol from Rooftop Defense (killer deal!)
Looking to get a Safariland 5198 holster and was wondering if it has a push button release like the one for my G19.

The 5198 is a passive retention holster, no button or release, it just clicks in an out by tensioning on the trigger guard.
