In my life time I would never have imagined that I would have seen a 1911 safety break off while engaging it.
It literally popped off the side of the frame like an old bottle cap. Crappy metal or just wear & tear? The gun was an older 1911 Springfield that I bought as a stripped frame & pieced together. Internals are Ed Brown but because of the older frame I went with Colt parts off of GunBroker.com My gunsmith is perplexed by this, & I myself am baffled by it. Has anyone else had this kind of failure? |
