I have a 586 that I've had for many years that has a laot fo the bluing worn off and some stains from condensation in the holster. It's not pitted and I'd sure like to have it re- finished. Not sure if I want bluing or parkerizing. Can anyone give input on either, and also offer suggestions on where to send it for either finish? Either finish looks equally good to me and I like the non-glare of the parkerizing, I've just heard it's not real durable. This is a utility handgun, not a show piece.
Thanks in advance. |

I have a carry-worn short-barreled 586 that I have been considering refinishing, as well. I am leaning toward Robar NP3 –– might be worth a look if you haven't considered it. Very durable finish, and more "go" than "show." |

I apologize –– I promised in our IM exchange the other night to come back and post a link and completely forgot! Mea culpa! I personally have three Berettas with that finish and it is great –– they do wonderful work. |
