Will the new S&W Ar have full interchangable AR parts as we all know & love or will there be some proprietary bullshit parts involved?????

Can't say about the proprietary part possibilities (say THAT fast three times!) but they are being made for S&W by CMT...or that is the poop I have. I have two CMT rifles and they are very nice for the money.

All three M&P15 models use standard parts, including milspec size reciever extensions, which is more than I can say for almost any other AR manufacturers. While I admit to not having shot a single one yet, I've been able to see several. They are nice rifles and I expect they will work quite well for people.

I got to handle one at the last show I went to.

Fit and finish seemed to be top notch, thats about all I could say from just goofing around with it.

Its the part of the gun that the stock slides on to. If you buy an Armalite, Bushmaster, Rock River, Olympic, DPMS, or almost anyone's gun, the upgraded stocks like LMT Sopmod stocks, Vltor's etc, wont fit. Those stocks, as I understand it, were designed to be used on military guns, which use, milspec size receiver extensions. All the manufacturers use tubes that are too fat. The exceptions being Colt, Stag, LMT and now S&W.

I suppose I should chime in since I am an owner of one of these guns.

I have the S&W M&P15T.  It is made by CMT and the goodies are Troy (the sights, and free floating quad-rail specifically).  I put the Hogue grip on it that is in the pic, it does not come with it.  I paid $1260 for it.  I fel that is a good price considering all the Troy goodies add up to about $500 if one were to buy them seperately.

I have only shot it tiwce, but I have had zero failures other than when I was holding the mag the first time I would get some FTFeeds.  The second time out I held the mag and had no problems.

Overall I am VERY pleased with it.  My only complaint is the trigger, I NEED the NM 2 stage.  This heavy ass single stage sucks, but it is a military trigger afterall.

It is my first AR and has officially infected me with black rifle disease.  I do a fondle session on it at least once every 2 days.

Here it be:
