It appears the previous owner did not like the grooves on the trigger but he left it in bare metal. You may just want to remove that one and get it refinished...or a locate a "service" trigger, the narrower ones, they turn up at gunshows or some older gunshops where they still work on guns from people who have upgraded to a "target" trigger. Parts can be found online, e-gunparts.com is just one such place. Model 17s are great guns, I hope you can get it back "in shape". |
| What is "classic" now has not always been so, and S&W triggers used to be a dime a dozen...unfortunately no longer the case, either. FYI, any "K". "L", or "N" frame trigger from the appropriate years when the innards were the same as yours will work. It is the hammers that are different. Maybe that will open up your search market a bit. |
