Model 41 with 5.5 and 7 inch barrels in original box. $1400 a decent price?

Gunbroker is your friend.  Check out what they're selling (and have sold) for.

Edit:  Here's one

For both barrels, that sounds like a good deal

Decent but not great. The 41 is a SLOW seller these days, it's a buyer's market.

I'd stick to no higher than $1200, IMO.

Didn't realize that.  Guess it's time to look for a 2nd one...

Bought mine about a year ago. I got a newer one with both barrels and 6 mags in very good condition. $900 plus shipping and transfer.
They are out there. Rimfire central has a couple in their classifieds now.

It's always been a slow seller.  Niche market that keeps getting smaller.  Straight bulls-eye is a dying sport.

Production of the 41 is minuscule.  Most years I doubt Smith makes more than a few dozen.

I bought a 1985-built 41 four years ago for just under $700. It came with a factory 5.5" and a Clark 5 .5" , five mags, and a Tasco reddot. Shitcanned the Tasco and put a Unidot MatchDot II  on each barrel. It shoot much better than I do.

41's are great pistols , I have a circa 1981 I bought new with the 5.5 and 7 inch barrels with a Aimpoint Micro on it and it is a tack driver. Try some Wolf Target match ammo in it if you buy it . As to value condition is everything , so get a real nice one as it will last a life time.
