Couple of local dealers here have some new model 60's priced at $650.  I've never heard a bad thing about these so i'm considering picking one up for my CCW as my XD 45 is a little too big to pack around all day.  What do you guys think price wise?  Should I shoot for around $600?

It appears that $600 seems to be the going rate for the new 60's anymore, but if it were me, excellent condition used pre-lock 60's are running in the $450 range and I wouldn't bother with an overpriced ILS model...

Even $600 is WAY too high, IMO.............

cheapest I can find it online is $581 and it's not even in stock.  Any other short barrel .357 mag I should look at?  What price is reasonable for a M60?  This is a Model 60 .357 mag 2" barrel with rubber grips btw

Personally, *I* wouldn't go much over $500, IMO.

Is a local gun show completely out of the question?

I think that is outragious. Check the pawn shops and gun shops. A gun shop in my area took in a trade a S&W mod 60, with the box, papers cleaning tools. Looked new, they put it out for $350.00. Just look around and keep you eyes open, don't get in a hurry.

IIRC, there's not much performance gain from the .357 from a snubbie. Consider a .38

You might keep an eye out for Ruger Six-Series revolvers. I found two in 3" stainless form over the last few years for $300 each, a Security-Six and a Speed-Six. They are generally much cheaper than the GP100, SP101  or S&W 60.
