I have one of these.  Anyone have any thoughts or opinions?

I have one question: Are National Magazine 15-Round Steel Mags any good?  I was looking for 17 rnd mags for my M910, but I can not find any.  I saw these National Magazine mags at Midway USA for $11.99 and was wondering if they are good.

Thanks for your help!

They're entry-level guns, nothing flashy but certainly not a Sigma by any means.

I've never heard of them. *I* would be suspect of them at that price. Most decent quality hi-caps will be in the $20 range, IMO. Check out CDNN for some good mag prices.

Entry level? Really? Please expound on that; I think it is a rather comfortable pistol.

What are you opinions on Mecgar magazines?

Stay away from National Mag, the are junk.  I purchased one for my 5906 and it is a tight fit in the mag well, empty.  With a full load, the mag will barely fit in the mag well.  It will not drop free.  Maybe I got a lemon, buy at your own risk.

"Entry level" = a Chevy instead of a Buick or a Caddy, IOW. Nothing wrong with it, but it sure as heck won't win you any bullseye contests. OTOH, you didn't pay high dollar for it either.

Shoot the gun & enjoy it. Then, when you've become more "sophisticated" regarding firearms, you can bump up to a Sig/Beretta/H&K/etc if you choose.

Many of us (myself included) like firearms that are able to be accessorized to fit personal preferences. 1911's are a prime example of this. A H&K USP would be at the opposite end of that spectrum, for example. We like to tweak grips, sights, perhaps barrels & sometimes triggers. This is neither good nor bad, it just "is".

What are you opinions on Mecgar magazines?

Top of the line, bar none. They make many OEM mags & stamp someone else's name on them. I know Beretta used (uses?) them with wonderful results. I've never heard of a complaint against Mec-Gar.
