Looking at some .357 Airweights in all of their various flavors.  The build quality of them seems a bit rough compared to a Ruger SP101.  As much as I dislike the past politics, the Ruger seems to be a much nicer gun.  What's the consensus on S&W quality these days?
Thanks!

P.S. Searched, came up empty.

I've got a Airlite made before they started using the Scandium frames.  I love it.  If I were searching for another lightweight revolver I'd opt for the 340PD.

S&W revolvers cost more, and there's a reason for that.
The reason is higher quality of build.

S&W simply make a higher-grade gun.  It's generally smoother, more refined, and can be tuned to a higher level than a Ruger.

S&W is a Cadillac, Ruger is a Chevy.

The adjustable ride shocks on my dad's Caddy kept failing, as did the wiper module, as did the...

I think S&W is better than Cadillac BTW.  I think the Ruger may be more robust but you pay the price in weight.

The build issues you refer to...  Could you be more specific?  Is it a finishing issue?  Bead blasted aluminum rather than polished stainless?

OK!  I'll go finger-fornicate a bunch more before I decide.  Thanks!

I once made the mistake of buying a SP101 when I could have had a S&W 642. The Ruger is heavier and the trigger is nowhere near as good.  I did correct my mistake.
