Amazing what 10 seconds on Google can do. lol Yes, they made quite a few single stack 9mm pistols based on the 5900 series design. This is one of them the 908s

The first automatic S&W marketed was a single stack 9mm, the 39.
Various versions continued through the different generation types. 439/639, 3904/3906, 909. There were also compact versions in the 3914/3913, 908.

I've got two, a 3913 and a 3953. Darn near identical except the 13 is DA/SA and the 53 is DAO. They're very good guns, reliable, accurate, durable and feed anything.
