Hey Folks, I have one of these revolvers in 6" blue flavor and I like it pretty good. It's not as smooth as my 686 but accurate enough if I do my part. Anyone care to opine on the durability of the security-six compared to the L-frame magnums or the GP100's? I am guessing that the L's and older rugers would be close to each other in durability. Sorry if this is a rechauffe of last weeks hot topic, but I haven't found too much on the search function. Also, anyone have any good links about these? I've checked out the Ruger forum and Rugers online pdf manual. Thanks Bullittorange |

I came across it used. It looked brand new exept for the very tip of the barrel near the muzzle has blueing wear. I've only put about 1k of 38's and 357's thru it so far. As expected, no problems. Accuracy seems to be less than my Smith's which I am convinced would shoot much better if I weren't involved. Still the groups are as good if not better than what i usually print with my glock 9mm's. I grew up shooting wheelguns though and honestly enjoy it more. I know they are not the apex of modern technology and I say this owning most of the wonderguns, I would hate to think of the trouble I'd gotten myself into that .357mag x 6 doesn't extricate me from. The only thing I don't like about this revolver is the six inch pipe, I always liked three four or five. Thats not much in the druthers dept tho. Thanks Folks, a Tyler grip adapter and I have another definition of retrokool! Bullittorange |
DAMN!!! $229? I'll buy it if you don't! They are damn good revolvers. I owned one 6 in. S/S back in the mid 70's in Alaska when I was stationed there in the Air Force. I wish now that I had keep it. I own a GP100 now 4in. S/S. I love it!! |
