I bought my Glock 22 last fall and finally looked at the serial number the other day.  After the letters, the numbers were "001".  Is that significant in some way?  Like the first out of a batch?

It just means its the first one made for that three letter range.  For example, the serial numbers on a Glock go GGG001 to GGG999 then the next one would be GGH001.  They first Glock serial number was AA001.  When they got to ZZ999, the next serial number went to three letters, AAA001.  Make sense?

Yes it does, thanks.  I just thought it might mean something special.  Oh well.
