| This may not be the right spot for this, but here it goes. I bought a pistol recently in TX were I live most of the time. I am going to visit family and friends in NJ, where my pistol 100% legal, and I have had my baggage lost before, so I wanted to ship the pistol from me to me, since I will be flying I will be there the next day when the pistol arrived via ultra fast next day service. I have been reading alot on USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHLs websites and FedEx seems to be the most gun friendly. Their website says you can ship to a licensed collector, what does that mean? Who will ship a legal pistol from a legal owner to the same legal owner? Again I dont trust taking it on a plane, simply because I dont want to deal with a lost pistol, I feel much better shipping it. |

First, let me start out buy saying as a former NJ resident that you best make sure you have ALL your NJ pistol permits in order or you will be paying Bubba homage in the state pokey. That aside, you can ship the gun to yourself via Fedex overnight or UPS overnight. You got to go to the depot and declare it to be totally legal. |

NJ law only regulates concealed carry, and purchasing, not possession for the purpose of transporting from home to range in an unlocked and unloaded state. Since I am visiting I will not be carrying concealed, and I dont plan to purchase while there either, so no permit is needed. And all of my pistols meet NJ state laws. So as a legal gun owner from TX am I a "licensed gun collector" in the eyes of FedEx? |
