I was watching Shooting USA on The Outdoor channel and a segment came up giving tips on successfully navigating uspsa events and it reminded me of a similar event I had been to.  I borrowed a friend's Glock 34 and noticed during the competition, probably 6 or 7 times, I would get a false reset by not fully releasing the trigger while rapid firing.  I ended up having to tap and rack each time.

I've heard about this in other places about the Glock and it seems to purely be a training issue, not a functionality issue.

My questions are, is there a trigger mod that shortens the reset on the Glock?
Which pistol out there is the best at this?
Is single action the absolute best way to go?
Am I just wrong and my friends Glock was crap?

The Ghost Tactical or Rocket connectors will help with the reset.

a single action trigger like found on a 1911 can easily have its trigger bow modified to limit the amount of forward movement... to provide just enough clearance that the disconnector re engages the sear....it is somewhat easier to accomplish as both the trigger bow, sear, disconnector and hammer are in the frame and the relationship between parts doesn't change.... the connector on a Glock disengages the entire trigger bar that is in the frame... that trigger bar is then re engaged by the forward movement of the slide, but the actual release point of the the striker which is in the slide can't be easily determined...it can be done, but takes a little more time

I shot a 1911 trigger for about 25years before switching to a G34... I found that where I could press the 1911 trigger with the very tip of my finger , I was missing the trigger safety lever on the G34.... it took me about 6 matches to train myself to get the middle of the pad on the Glock trigger....it took about 6months to re train myself with the reset of the G34 trigger.... give yourself some time with the pistol...

several of the aftermarket connectors have tabs that allow overtravel to be adjusted, which will aid in shortening the reset

Put about 1500 rounds through the Glock and it won't be an issue anymore.

You may also have been experiencing trigger freeze, which is ultimately caused by too tight of a grip with the firing hand.

Hmmm....

Glocks have a pretty darn short reset as it is, and don't have a false reset to throw you off. The Hi Power has a pretty long reset, but there's an obvious tactile click when you get there.

Now, my P11 on the other hand...

its you, not the gun

yes
glock is one of the best...but it depends on what kinda "reset" youre looking for...for a stock glock, its very positive
not necesssarily...most single actions, its tougher finding that "reset'' point. but then, its easier to just let go and it'll reset
