If you're talking pistol caliber shot loads, and I assume you are since you're asking in a handgun forum, some gun stores carry them, usually in .38 or .44, but they're absurdly expensive, last time I saw them they were something like $20 for 10 rounds in .44 mag.  If you can find a place that sells the bare capsules, and I'm guessing Midway or Natchesz does, you can reload your own.  All you need is a Lee Loader for that caliber, the shot capsules, shot, powder and primers.  Oh, and a reloading book to get the proper load data from, but if you tell us what caliber we'll probably post the data here for you.  I used to load my own .44 and .357 shot loads using the Speer shot capsules to carry in my revolver during deer season, just to bring down some grouse for the camp pot.

They're almost worthless in calibers under .38, they just don't hold enough shot to do much good at anything past arms reach.  And the semi auto calibers won't operate the gun, you'll have to manually cycle it.  The .22 rimfire shot rounds are, IMO, worthless.

I think there's a Box O Truth segment on pistol shot capsules.
