Is it OK to shoot shotshell loads in my 21??I spend alot of time on the River fishing in the Summer and figure my 21 would be a great pistol to carry.Ive allways carried my old Model 10 but would like to start carrying my 21 instead.

Was wondering this my self.  But I didn't wan't the shot to pit my barrel.  Also I don't know if it would rack the slide to properly chamber the next round.  I could be wrong, and am also curious about this.

They're fine to shoot, they just don't have the power to cycle the action.

What would you find while fishing that would require such wmmo???

Snakes & such critters; just be sure not to shoot shotshells through a "C" (or otherwise compensated) model!

I have used the remington shotshells in the G21. They never cycled the pistol well. They do work fine in a 1911. I wanted to carry a shotshell upfront and the rest of the mag loaded with 185gr HP's. As I said, the G21 wasn't reliable in cycling the shotshell so I gave up.

A Wolff reduced powderpuff recoil spring is all you need. (15-18#)

Actually, you made a good choice in using the G for shotshells!

The 1911 has standard rifling, and the Glock uses the smoother polygonal style.

Which do you suppose deforms the shot more?!?

I had a P-90 Ruger, and the groups with CCI .45 shotshells in it were twice what I got with the G21.
