So I got this gun for 150 bucks. BUT
The hammer does not lock back, it is SAO and the barrel has been cut flush with the end of the slide. Story is the guy wedged the 229 barrel inside his 225 and had to cut off the end of it to get the barrel out. As far as the DAO and hammer not locking back, he handed me a small bag with the gun that had a spring and a couple steel pieces and a roll pin. From what i've been able to figure out from looking at a buddies sig is that i am missing a safety lever for the internals. where can/should I order that part from? and that poor .40 cal barrel has been slaughtered, so i wanna drop a .357 sig barrel in. but I can not find any for less that $200 I seen them before for like $105, but im assuming those are used? Sorry if this all sounds silly, i've been working way too much, i'm tired as hell and I have almost not experience with sigs |

I compared my internals with a new model 226 and it matched up after i added the safety lever. Now I have just a couple issues, one being the barrel has been cut off, ground down? To the point that it is flush with the end of the slide. Second and this is my only actual concern, the end of the guide rod, the end that is flared and sits against the barrel itself has a flat spot on it making it not round. But for $160, that's not a bad deal, even if I have to replace the guide rod and barrel is it? http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/280x200q90/856/i3adm.jpg and this spot where it looks like that guide rod has hit the frame. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/280x200q90/849/eolo.jpg I'd replace the barrel and guide rod.. just to be safe. |

I ordered a new stainless guiderod. I am going to try the barrel out to see if it's remotely accurate. If it is I think I will keep it and just run it like the $175 gun it is lol I'd advise against that. The P225 barrel doesn't use the same locking insert as a P229, also the barrel lock up isn't going to be the same, which could result in a blow out (if the barrel doesn't lock against the slide correctly). |

I'm assuming everything on the gun is original 229.
I don't know where anyone said it was a 225... I'm sorry I just re ready original post, he got his 229 barrel stuck in his 226 slide and cut it down an 1/8th inch. Everything I have is factory 229. The barrel bore looks good. It's just flush with the end of the slide. Sorry about that |
