What do you think of this handgun.  If it fits my daughter and she likes it thinking about gitting it in a 9 mm.
Price 775 good price?

Good gun, oversized for what it is though.  Price is very high unless it has night sights then its just high.

It seems a little high, if it comes with night sights. Mine has been dead-nuts reliable, and I carry it every day.

It's a pussycat in 9mm. Mine has been very accurate, and has the same controls as it's bigger brothers. (I use sigs almost exclusively.)

I carried one for years as a back up gun on duty and as my off duty gun. Accurate, reliable. All SIGs are expensive , period. I bought shortly after they came on the market for around $550, IIRC.

Just bought one in March!

I would consider buying a used P239 over a new one for the following reasons...

-  New P239s are 100% Exeter guns.  The older ones (year or more) are German frame guns (.40SW/.357SIG) and IIRC the 9MM are 100% German
-  Older Sig barrels have been proof fired and guns assembled with better QC
-  Keeps the price down (I think these are overpriced new b/c of the CCW market right now)
-  Gun has been tried.  I had a trigger return spring break after 200 rounds
-  You might get lucky and get a metal guide rod!

That said, I searched for about six months trying to find a decent (price/condition) used P239 in .40SW or .357SIG local and gun sites online.  I made a huge mistake and passed on one at a local gun show in December because I wanted to keep looking.  I should have snatched that one up!

The CCW market is insane right now.  If you're looking for cheap polymer carry guns they are plentiful but decent carry guns are not.

I really like my P239 9mm.  This is one of 50 imported last year from Switzerland.  It is 100% german made and proofed, has an amazing finish called Ilaflon.

Not all sigs. Just picked up a pretty recently produced P238 and it only has 1 mag and for the price it should have 2 no matter if there is a shortage from Sig or not.

That may be because it's not considered a standard production pistol
P238 special info

But for all standard production pistols, including the p239

I had a 239 and loved it.  I traded it for a full size HK USP 45 Tactical.  While I love the HK, I miss my 239 to the point where I think I am going to buy another one.

I had a P239 about 12 years ago but sold it for the needed funds. It was reliable and accurate. I recently added a new one to my collection, manufactured 2010, and it runs just as good as that first one I had. Finish and reliability are outstanding and its my summer carry gun for every day. In my area I bought it for $650.00 with night sights and 2 mags. Shop around and you may get a better deal for less than 7 beans.

My only complaint with mine is that it is kind of top heavy compared to the 229 and the stock grips get a little slippery if your hands are sweating. It is my daily carry, though.

I regularly shot my friend's P239.

Loved it but went with the P226 for my hand size.

I have a friend with one with the threaded barrel and night sites.
He loves the gun, but it seems a bit heavy to me for its size.
To me it is too heavy for daily carry, but would be a nice range gun.

Unless you are a waifish lad prone to blowing away in a strong breeze, it really isn't that noticeable to carry if you've got a decent belt/holster and the extra weight makes shooting more pleasant.

Got one....
Sig P239 SAS Gen 1 DAK with Short Trigger (not SRT) installed.
I have Hogue G10 grips on it and it is by far the most comfortable gun I own!
First I am partial to single stacks so that eliminates Glock (except for my 36).
It is a GREAT CCW gun without a doubt if you have smaller hands and are partial
to single stack.
Also as for sweaty hands...  I have em as well and all wood grips are lousy with
sweaty hands but the G10 just seem to stick even better when your hands are
slimy and sweaty.

I got that and a couple days later I got a Gen 1 SAS DAK P220 Carry.
I am now in the process of moving a couple pieces to get the funds to purchase
4 more Sigs I want.......  Out with the old and in with the new (well new to me)

I have a 239 in 9mm that I carried as an off duty gun for four years. It is a little top heavy , but it helped with the recoil. It isnt the smallest gun, but it is very flat and conceals very well.

You might want to locate a SW 3913 Ladysmith for here.  Awesome 9mm about the same size as the P239 and perhaps cheaper.

I would like both for my 9mm collection

Do you have a pic with the G10 grips installed?  I've been using the rubber Hogue on mine and would like to see what other options I have.

To the OP: Mine is a great pistol. Shoots really well.  I don't mind the little extra weight on it as it makes it handle very good.  I picked mine up at a pawn shop right after I got out of the Army in 2000 and it's still running strong.  My wife is comfortable shooting it too, so I keep it in her nightstand for when I'm away.  I actually wouldn't mind converting mine into a DAO with a slightly lighter trigger pull.  That'd  make a great gun even simpler to shoot for beginners.  I haven't bought mags for it in a while, but there used to be a high gloss and matte black finished mag. I prefer the matte ones.  The couple of gloss ones I have need to be wiped down with oil a lot to keep oxidization away.

Ill try to get some posted later, they really slim down the profile compared to the wood or even Hogue rubber,
I have small hands so they are PERFECT!
Honestly the best grip I have ever owned are G10s (Hogue or VZ they both are AMAZING)

So far of the guns I sold, this is by far the one I regret the most. Easy to shoot, dead on accurate, and ate everything. $775, to me is high, but what sig isn't. I'd look for a used one, or even like mentioned a smith 3grd gen 3913/14/15 or a 6906/4/26/46 model

the guy selling these is on gunbroker as well, and the prices are cheaper

I talked to him before the sale. He said Sig only sent one mag with the P239 I purchased.  There was a certain time period where P239's only came with one mag.  Maybe they all come with two now, but not the one I purchased.
