I know that they have been canceled by SIG but is one worth getting? Max |

I really like mine link have a look at my pictures. The only thing that irks me is that the trigger adjustment for pull is hindered by the trigger transfer rod/plate, the heel/nub needs filing to allow the trigger pull adjustment to fully function, I think that you'd have to remove to much metal to get the best result's. When you rack the slide, there is a disconnecter (safety feature) on the above mentioned rod/plate that sits in a recess in the inner side of the slide when it is closed, and forces the above mentioned trigger rod/plate down and away from the hammer sear, if you adjust the trigger and rack the slide it won't reset on the trigger sear, but sits underneath it. If you do get one and remove the rod/plate to polish & lube it, watch out for that little spring, they fly, well at least mine did. That's the only negative point that I have on the weapon, it's more accurate than I am. Tony Edited to add, I was at the range with it this morning and 2 of my three mag's have started malfunctioning, last round FTF and the second one has started throwing the last round out of the gun whilst repeating instead of loading it . I'm now having second thoughts, BTW, the third mag was okay, first 5 shot's fired at 25m got me 43 points out of 50, so the accuracy is okay, I e-mailed the people at Walther who are currently the distributors of the Hämmerli Xesse as its called here in €urope. |

Toemag Thanks for the reply. I took the plunge and bought it. It is a nice pistol. I paid less than half of the retail price. It was too sweet to pass. Plus I found out that Larry's Guns stocks mags so I ordered some. I will post AAR when I am done. I will compare it with my MKIII. Max |

You'll probably be very happy with it. Others have had problems, but mine has been 100% and damned accurate to boot. The Trailside was a Sig branded and "Trailside" labeled Hammerli X-esse. Sig didn't support it very well, based on what I have heard and read. Now it appears that Walther has acquired Hammerli. The following is on Larry's home page:
