| Anyone know of a source for the older brown Sig plastic cases? When I fly with my Sig, the older closed cell foam found in the older brown plastic cases is much better than the soft foam found in the current blue cases. This new foam is useless in keeping the gun in place. |

If you want the best protection for your pistol, I suggest the following: 1) Make a very accurate tracing of the foam that is used in your current case. 2) On that tracing, make an accurate tracing of your pistol. OR Remove the the current foam insert in the case and... 3) Call CPD industries (Cases By Pelican website) in CA and have them make a custom-cut polyethylene foam insert for your Sig case. The polyethylene foam is better than the foam you normally get; It is very firm, and resists oils/solvents/whatever. It's like having a Pelican case for your Sig, without the cost of buying the case. (Nice to know you like Sig pistols). |

(Nice to know you like Sig pistols). mo- I am an diehard Sig fan, and the majority of my handguns are Sigs. I know I can get the polyethylene foam inserts, or even buy the foam and cut it myself, but I thought I might be able to get a case with the foam cheaper (and the older brown case is thinner and smaller than the blue ones which is important for my suitcase). I have a couple for some older P226s which I can use for my current P229 with minor modification, so I was looking to get a couple more. Quoted: What pistol? I have a black case from a P229 I bought.
