| Alright, I just ordered a set of Trijicons for my Series I Ultra. Rumor has it that the stock sights may be a "wee touch" tighter than other manufacturers. How much of a PITA is swaping sights going to be? |

My advice to you is to cut the front sight off... you may have cut the rear sight too. Too install new sights get a really strong sight mover. It took me two nights to remove the front sight and about two hours to remove the rear sight. It took 4 or 5 hours to get the new sight installed. I just use a brass hammer followed by a steel claw hammer and then finally finished with a small sledge hammer. I also destroyed 2 delrin punch, 5 or 6 brass punch and then one steel punch to get the job completed. It looks great when completed. Do you have a stong vice on your work bench? You'll need it. BTW old sights come out to the port side and new sights will have to go in from the port side. |

Rodger that, out the port side, in the port side. If I have to, I'll take the slide into work and use the Bridgeport after hours to remove the stock sights. One wonders what is the point of a lock screw on the rear sight unit if they can't easilly be driven out though. |
| The kimber rear dovetail is very tight. You should be able to drift the sight over with a brass punch though. We eyballed the sights while installing mine and it shoots dead to aim (left right) at 10 yards. In the pictures above, the wood used to pad the vise jaws is a piece of red oak I got at Home Depot for around a buck. |
