I have the opportunity to gt a Sigma 9mm real cheap...has been shot 50 to 100 rounds....I know nothing about these pistols...will be used as a glove box pistol...can anyone shed some light on these....from what little I have seen, they don't seem to be too popular

Well....... they do make a great paper weight.

They seem to have a bad reputation, but I have owned a few over the years. Never had a problem with any of them, 9 or 40.

I need to clarify.... by cheap I mean free....a friend is giving it to me for doing some woodwork at her house.   So it will become a glove box pistol after I run a few hundred rounds through it

Mine shoots great.

Do the trigger mod.  Google or you tube search.

Polish it a little bit, it will only get a better with more rounds.

I also put a Hogue Slip on grip on it to fit my big hands.

The early models are almost an exact knock off of a glock, with a stainless slide and barrel.

There are some that have issues, but all firearms have their own issues, not just the sigma.

If it is one of the SW9VE s made in the last few years, you should be fine.  They are decent guns. I have not had problems thru mine. Just a hard trigger to deal with. If it is one of the older versions, beware.
Do not get the SW9F
The SW9E and VE are the modified ones.
