| Tell me about the Ruger Single 6. I just picked one up used, flat top mdel in .22 with the .22mag cylinder for $240. The gun is in great shape and comes with a set of ugly pearl grips. How did I don on price? Is this a good fun gun? Is the strength and quality of this gun up to par with the rest of the Ruger line? |
| Price-wise, you did pretty good, I think. Myself, I'd get rid of those awful "pearl" grips, and put a set of wood, or even better--Hogue grips on it. If you REALLY want to make it into a 'custom" gun, you can get a "bird's head" grip frame for it from Brownell's. As far as how much fun are they to shoot? A friend of mine has a single-action .22, and of all the guns we usually take with us when we go shooting, that little thing gets the most ammo put through it than anything else. The strength and quality? If you take care of it, your grandchildren will be shooting it. The single-six is the best single-action .22 revolver in the world, IMHO. |
