I have a G19 right now and today I got to thinking about a G26 as a "glovebox" gun so to speak. Is the size difference 'negligible' or 'noticeable' or 'substantial'? I mention the G26 because then I can use my G19 and G18 homey clips* in it. *

Dan -- we must think alike. I've been considering a G26 as well. My "needs" are for a good coat pocket gun that doesn't get hung up on anything as I pull it out... as many of the compact guns will because they're just a bit too big. The G30 with the 9 round mag is working ok for this role, but I think the G26 might be a bit better... hell, any excuse for a new gun  .

Get outta my head! The other "option" is a Smith and Wesson Model 640 I figure if I go different I would go with a revolver  The airweights are a bit lite for me and I like having the option of shooting .357. I had a Model 60 that I really loved. |
| I have both and while the 26 is more compact, once you start extending the mags with whatever baseplate you choose, you will give up a lot of its "compactness". I don't think the gun is any less shootable with the stock 10 round mag, and with one in the tube, you still have 11 rounds- |

On the topic of the 26 and 19. I own both and I carry both, but not a the same time. I carry the 26 most of the time be cause of size issues, it is a bit easier to hide, shorter barrel and grip. The good thing is that the 17 and 19 mag will work in the 26. It will look funny, but it works, reliabilty over asthetics. As for a glove box gun, it would be ideal. I have a couple 26 mags in the center console, some 19 mags laying around in the house, etc. The 26 is a great pistol that will take the Glock 9mm mags, even the 33 rounder!!! Here is a pic, a 19 and a 26. I also own a 17 and a 34!

| I had G19, and now I have G23 (which is same size as G19). Although G26 and G19 are only bit difference in terms of look, it feels totally different. As I mentioned in numerous posts, G26 feels way to small for me. It is coming from a guy who has a very very small hands. However, G26 is a great little firearm. My female friends love em. |
