I mentioned this in another thread, but it cropped up on another P22 recently: when loading a mag with the slide locked back, if a firm rap is given to the bottom of the mag to seat it, the slide will release and chamber a round without touching the slide release button.  This happened to anyone else?  Doesn't bug me too much, but I can't believe S&W intended this to happen...

I have had this happen once, but I haven't been able to reproduce it again. I know this was a "feature" on the H&K USP but I don't think S&W (or Walther for that matter) intended this on the P22.

S&W makes P22s?

P22s are made by Walter in Germany.  S&W just imports em.

The P22 slide catch is subject to wear.  Once it's worn it will do that.  Its not intended.

You can take a file and dress the catch area and the slide stop so that they have positive engagement and it won't happen anymore.  (The slide has a steel pin pressed in at the catch location, as the slide itself is super soft zinc and would otherwise wear all to hell).
