| I have a used Taurus PT1911, the problem I am having is the slide is holding open after every couple of shots. There is no feed issues or ejection problems. The slide stop just engages and the slide holds open. What causes this problem and what can I do to fix it? |

Barring any additional info, I'd guess you're bumping the slide stop. (I'm assuming you're a right-hander and shooting with a two-hand grip.) It's easy to do without even being aware of it.
Try firing left-handed for a few mags and see if the problem goes away. If the problem doesn't happen when shooting lefty, you'll probably need to adjust your grip when shooting strong-side again. |

Or the spring and/ or detent in the plunger tube is toast. Does your safety have a fair amount of resistance to take on off or is it really easy? Real easy suggests a new spring may help.
Barring engaging it with your hand somehow ( shoot a mag one handed left handed and this will answer the question ) Then bad slide stop is my next guess |
