my goal is to get full engagement of the slide stop into the corresponding notch in the slide
There's always some gap as the stop needs some space to ride up vertically while the slide is in motion forward so it can engage it. If the slide stop was not engaging 100% of the time, that's almost always a magazine problem, not a slide stop/frame/slide issue (unless you have a newer Para, in which case it's probably both a frame issue). What kind of gun do you have, and what problem were you having? Slide stops themselves rarely if ever require fitting. There is plenty of tolerance in the design for almost all parts to drop in, unlike thumb safeties, etc. |

from looking............the "Frame Window" seems to be the problem..........the detent part.......is beyond my capabilities.............know anyone that can do it............I wan't it to engage like it is doing in the picture.......but, I don't think my skill level is going to get me there..........thnx
Also.....I think if the frame section on top of the Window was removed it would work perfect.......(the slide stop).......just a hypothetical conclusion.........If the top of the window was removed, what would happen? |

After trying to get the slide stop to engage properly..........I know it would work correctly.......if I cut the top of the Window out............I think I am going to do it.........
Did you cut the one in the picture or did it come from Wilson that way..........incidently that is a Wilson slide stop in the picture..........thanks...........steven |

The tech I talked to at Wilson Combat said they cut the opening that way to make fitting of the slide stop easier..........I took the dremel to mine and then squared it off with a file............problem solved............ |
