I did a complete strip down of my 2nd gen g23 tonight for the first time. I had no problems with the slide or the main body of the gun.

The only issue i have is i think i installed the slide stop wrong.

With the gun assembled no mag in the gun i rack the slide and the slide stop is activating and holding the slide open like the last round has been fired. Did i miss something i checked my Sig's and they don't do this.

Is the spring in the wrong position? It sure seems like a crap shoot to get it into position in the first place.

If you have a late model, 3 pin frame, the Slide Stop Lever needs to be put back in a specific order.  The spring end on the Slide Stop Lever needs to contact the Locking Block Pin (top pin) in the frame.  This is accomplished by installing the Locking Block Pin first, then putting the Slide Stop Lever in with the Trigger Pin (lower pin).

And it's easier, if you replace the trigger pin left-to-right, jiggling the slide stop lever fore-and-aft, as you push in the pin.  (and it probably won't be so much of a "crapshoot" if you do it correctly)

what he said. Skinny pin in first  then the bottom pin. The spring arm must be under the skinny pin (top pin).

+1 to the above, and for god sake's don't pound your pins.   You shouldn't have to hammer anything.  If one of them isn't moving (probably the biggest one, the locking block pin), all you should have to do is move the slide stop back and forth a little bit.

Say hello to my little friend, a printable Glock Armorers manual.  The trick is to understand how the parts relate to each other. The pictures help as well.
