Wanting to swap out the slide stop on my RIA tac with a stainless or polished version. Im not sure what size I need though. I took a set of calipers to it and it measures .197 I measured the OD of the pin that goes thru the frame. Am I measuring correctly? And what do I need to be looking for when finding a replacement?  Or am I overthinking this and pretty much any one I find will fit? Thx in advance

Your over thinking it. Buy a drop in part, unless you want oversize and want to sand it to fit.

And keep in mind any replacement part may need fitting. The 1911 is a slippery slope if the gun runs I advise against replacing anything

Slide stops are one of the parts least likely to need fitting on a 1911. Get one for the caliber your pistol is chambered in. The most likely problem you'll have, if there is any, is premature slide locking, or less common not locking. Not much you can do if it doesn't lock but possibly try different magazines/springs/adjust followers, if it locks early the part that protrudes into the magazine needs to be shortened or thinned, neither are difficult with a file and/or sandpaper.

You'll want a regular .200" slide stop.

If you're putting this on a black gun it's gonna look like shit.

beauty is the eye of the beholder.

I would just skip extended slide stops.

No, Not going with an extended.. Id like to find an exact replacement just in polished.. I might just see about polishing up the one I have in it...

Check out Wilson Combat's bullett proof slide stop. I am fairly certain that they make one in stainless.
