My question for all you gun smiths/ anyone.
Is slide to frame impact a concern?, You know I mean I shoot a 45acp 5" 1911 no real exotic rds,
maybe shoot weekly around 500 rds per week? I use a Gi plug and 16LB recoil spring in all my full size 1911's.

Are you seeing signs of impact now? If so you may wish to up your spring weight and/or increase the frequency you replace your recoil spring. Personally I prefer a 18 lb spring and have seen no signs of battering (from either direction).

Up the spring to 18# and get a recoil buffer for the end of the recoil guide rod.Made out of nylon
