Downside is you lose your lanyard hole. I hate to go swimming with a pistol that does not have a lanyard. That's what a good holster with proper retention is for. i don't have one. Do you guys think it's worth the money you spend? so..the true question lies here. 6 pack of refreshing ice cold beer OR the plug. hmmm.. Good point, but's that's a six pack of water for me. LOL |
A ship is safe at port, but that is not what a ship is for.... (Hopper). Sometime the pistol might have to come out and play. Reference Bigbores G21 test - the plug is unecessary. .www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=5&f=4&t=13658&page=1 |

Turn your Glock upside down, and look inside the grip where the plug would be inserted. With good lighting or a flashlight you can see the bottom of the slide. Now Just ONE of the reasons to plug this hole is to think about the possibility of getting assualted, taken to ground, rolloing around on the dirtwith the bad guy. The grip now acts like a sand scoop with the good chance of getting down to the inside of the slide. You have a chance to draw, and after the first shot you could have a problem. I feel a carry Glock must have the Plug. Also consider that once dirt finds its way to the inside of the slide it could also then travel to the firing pin chanel. Just did a search after typing this on "glock plug". Says the same thing that I just mentioned. """Description: The plug is designed to close the open cavity at the bottom of the grip, not allowing debris to enter and reach trigger assembly and firing pin. It also fits flush to eliminate snagging on open cavity. Used by LE & military worldwide. JP-1 fits Glock models 17,19,20,21,22,23,24,31,32,34 and 35. JP-2 fits models 26, 27 and 33. JP-3 fits models 29 and 30.""" www.aspitactical.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=2628 |
