Just bought a brand new G26 gen3.
For some reason it came with what looks like a slugplug installed.

How do I remove it without causing any damage?
It seems to be really stuck in there.

I pulled the fuck out of it. Doesnt move, feels like its "part" of the frame.

I'm guessing that slug plug refers to a plug that fills the open space behind the bottom of the mag well.  If that's it, don't you need to push the catch in through the hole at the same time you pull the fuck out of the plug?  Kind of like a magazine base plate?

No, that hole is only on the full size not sure about the compact.  I just went and grabbed my G27, you're right it's tough.  Try a pair of vice grips on it.

The asshole probably glued it as the sub-compacts don't have a lanyard hole to retain it.

ETA:"Brand new?"

Hopefully not!  I put mine in and I can't remove it right now by hand that's why I recommended the vice grips.

I know its none of my business nor the point of this thread, but why are you trying to remove it?
I don't have those plugs on any of my Glocks but I've been looking into them. Is there anything NOT desirable about them?

HTR.

Only reason I want this one out is because it protrudes too far for my liking.

If you have the ability, take off the slide and take out the trigger assy.
Use a screw driver or some other tool and knock it out from the top.
I've never owned a baby glock so I'm not sure that will work or not.

Just an idea.

I have a Grip Laser on mine, and kept misplacing the little hex key to adjust it with, so I put in a grip plug and keep the key inside it so I can always find it and get to it.

I keep a pair of needle nose in my shooting tools, and have a utility tool on my keys with a little plier in it that is adequate to get it out.

It's a little tough to get out, but I like it that way so it won't come out w/o my wanting it to.

That hex key also doubles as a nice little punch should I need to get into the frame.

If pliers don't work or you would rather not tear it up, this might work. If you remove the trigger housing (one pin at rear of frame) there is a slit that leads down to the plug. You could hammer it out with a stainless ruler or metal strap.

If you do this, you will need to be sure everything goes back in correctly (easy) and the one thing most forget is to be sure the trigger spring is seated on the bar properly (likes to sit sideways after this).

Isn't the quickest way, but it is another approach.  Good opportunity to clean crud out anyway.

ETA - damn phoenix. I didn't see your post there. Same idea, and you had it first.

I have a sweet idea but haven't had a chance to try it yet.
I am going to thread the inside of the barrel and screw and big grade 8 bolt in there then I am going to fire 1 round and see if that causes it to fly out.

BRB I have to go change the oil in my car, I have it teetering on 1 jack stand.

I'm willing to bet it is epoxied in there.  I remember getting one for my G27 when I was stupid and it kept falling out while I was shooting.  Some people recommended gluing it in.  That was when it went in the garbage can.  If I was you, I would just leave it.  At least right now, before you rip it out and cause damage, you can still sell the gun if you have to without it looking like some monkey was chewing on a banana.

I've never seen a new 26 or 27 with a plug in it.. Take the damn thing back where you bought and tell them it was misrepresented and you want your money back.

OTH, I may be wrong, but think not...

Still can't get it out. Can't even yank it out with pliers or vice shizzles.

BTW: I bought it in the EE for $450 shipped, NIB.
So I saved a few bux but wound up with a "modded" gun.

I drilled a hole in it, put a small punch through the hole and pulled it out.
Wasnt glued in or anything just tight as hell. Lame.

Who wants it? Heh

Make it into a key chain.

Better yet send it back where it came from and tell them they seem to have lost their butt plug and you found it in your new gun and didn't appreciate it one bit...

not sure why you want to remove it as it keeps all the funk out of the slot it covers. as i recall the 22 and 23 were a snap fit but the 27 was a real hard fit.

it's a grip plug and i've put them on all the glocks i have/had.

It actually only serves to retain all the gunk that works its way in from the top, and that would normally fall out with the plug not there.  They are worthless pieces of junk that serve no purpose except for people that want to make their gun look cool.
