I'm looking for a small .45 for carry in the summer. What would you recommend?

What about a Glock 36 slim line?

If you buy a Glock then get the G30 instead.

Or the Kimber Ultra Carry II.

How about this S&W it's a .40 cal, if it must be a .45 cal, then go with the small Kimbers.

Well, it's smaller than a fullsize 5" 1911. Dan Wesson's CCO & Bobtail

I got the 30, is the 36 THAT much slimmer?

2/27/2004 4:52:49 PM EDT
[#9]
Yeah, the 36 is a little thinner than a 19, actually it's thinner than a 1911 if you include the levers and doo-dads that stick out of the side of a 1911.

I'll try to get a pic tonight and post it tomorrow ( I don't have a 30 but have a 21)

Taken directly from the Glock website:

Glock 36           Glock 30
L 6.77"            L 6.77"
H 4.76"            H 4.76"
W 1.13"            W 1.27"

Ive heard good things about both.

It doesn't look like much on paper but side by side it is quite noticable. I would buy either used as I wont buy a new glock.

I have a G30. not hard to conceal, even in summer. In the summer I wear short and a tucked in T-shirt. G30 in a Sidearmor IWB holster with a button front shirt over top and unbuttoned.
10+1 versus the 6+1 of the G36, and it is able to acept G21 mags which can give you 13 or 15(with the +2 mag extensions) +1

That's the same summer carry clothing tactic I use, it's comfortable and effective. (The chicks dig the casual look too)

I'd go for the Kimber Ultra Carry, but if you already had your mind on a Glock, be it 36 or 30,-- they're reliable guns.

CDNN has a huge Springfield compact sale going on, you really should give it a look see. 479.00 or close to it for a blued Springfield compact .45 acp. I forget, but think it is even night sight equipped.
