I have a line on a S&W no dash 640, that would come with a couple of speed strips, a speed loader, and a Mika pocket holster. Keep in mind this is a pre mim and pre lock Smith in .38Sp. It has a stainless finish and is of course all steel.
Is $550 a fair asking price or is that too high? The Smith does not have the original box or documents with it. I've checked with S&W and shooting +ps is fine out of this revolver. Thanks |

Pass, you can get a 442/642 for half the price if you look. |
| I bought a 90% condition 640 no dash for $450 and it took me a while to sell it for that in 2013 when I had to have something else. I do regret selling it, but there was another Smith calling my name. If it is high it isn't by much, and if you will still have food if you buy it for that then I wouldn't worry if you are paying too much. The 640 is an awesome original. |

I pay a little more for pre-lock pre-mim Smiths but that's a little on the high side unless you really want it. As stated a 642 can be had without a lock and the 2 I have are pretty nice to carry as light as they are.
Now I also have a 640-1 which is 357 Magnum and I love it. Put a XS night sight out front, Pachmyer Compacs on it and bead blasted the thing, it's as close to perfect as I can imagine a snubby to be. |

If I could only have one handgun I'd choose that one. I'm about to leave for a week camping trip Bringing that and a cut down Winchester model 12. |
