Ok so I'm getting interested in finding a Gen 1 17, other than Gunbroker does anyone have a source?

Apart from gunbroker, your only real source is Gun/pawn shops, gun shows, or local forums. Buds and AIM have police trade ins occasionally,  but I haven't seen Gen 1s in a long time. I got mine off of a FB group that may or may not still exist

Gen1 Glocks are luck of the draw..... If you find one and want one just jump on it when you find one.  I myself have seen several in my life and passed on every single one.  They have almost no collector value except to the people who seek them out, they will either be all beat to shit or be in perfect condition with the seller trying to gouge the price.  Personally I do not see the point when you can get a Gen2 for better price and is a better pistol.

The Gen1 Glock was the Windows Vista of Glocks and the Gen2 is Windows 7 so basically everything the Gen1 should have been.

Mass is good spot to check because glocks arent compliant here. Problem is these idiots charge a mass tax premium thinking they are gold.

$400 should be the max one should pay for a Gen1.

I'm curious to hear your reasoning behind that statement and what you think about the value of 1980's HKs

HK P7 if that is what you are asking that is not an apples to apples comparison?  Gen1 Glock is nothing special considering the numbers that were made and imported.  Do not get me wrong I love Glocks but they are not collectors items like a Singer 1911.

I can't see paying more than $400 for any used glock unless it was something I really wanted...like a Gen 1 G17L
Check armslist for your Gen 1.
I found mine on a Facebook group for $300.

Gunbroker is chock full of Gen 1 G17 trade-ins from MPDC right now.  Some dealer out in TN has a bunch of listings for Gen 1s and Gen 2s.  Looks like they scored a deal with the department or with a distributor who worked a trade deal with the department.  They are used and have some wear, but they're in relatively decent shape.  Now would be a good time to grab one if you want one at a good price.

Look for police trade-ins.  I see them from time to time that way.

$398 is the most one should pay for a NIB gen3 or gen4.

Gen1 and Gen2 guns being no longer produced, having no finger grooves and no MIM are worth more than a NIB 3/4
