Anyone know a place that sells Soviet era Makarovs?

If not, are the Bulgarian Maks the most reliable?

Who has good prices on them? I saw Makarov.com is going out.

The surplus Maks have been gone for some time now, but they're still common on Gunbroker, pawn shops, and gun shows. Soviet jobs have always been somewhat hard to come by, but East German and Bulgarian guns are common and at least as nice.

They're all pretty much the same - the most reliable autoloaders on the planet.

Again, you'll be buying used, so whomever you can get one from.

I have a couple of Bulgarian surplus jobs and they both are great little guns. The only thing I don't like is the excessively heavy DA trigger pull, but they're range guns to me and I never shoot them in DA.

I believe East Germans are the hardest to find. I have only seen a few and I have seen many many Russian Maks.

East German are also the most expensive for the most part.

East German are generally considered the best Maks out there and are thus expensive, but I don't think they're rarer or more expensive than Russian surplus Maks. Russian commercial Maks, on the other hand, are pretty common and fairly cheap.

Try looking for Empire Arms. They're out of Florida, I believe.

They've usually got some very nice Soviet military Makarovs but they run around $600.
