I've always wanted a STAR Firestar. Don't quite know why, just one of those I think would be cool to have.
All I can find around here these days is the Firestar in .40; as I just pulled myself out of the .40 market with the trading off of my USP, I haven't been inclined to pick up one of those I have seen. |

I loaned it to a friend and it came back Orange. Mags are next to impossible to find, and it needs some work. It was my first handgun, so i will always keep it, but it is in sad sad shape right now. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a381/yekimak/e02bc47f.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a381/yekimak/0c5f7b27.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a381/yekimak/5972186c.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a381/yekimak/a6ff5643.jpg I miss Star. Those Star Model 30s are great guns. I had the foresight to buy 5 mags when Star was still in business. Utterly reliable. My problem is that at some point I am going to need a new recoil spring, the old importer gone, and Star merged with Lllama, and I beleive they went bankrupt.

Here is my Firestar .45acp: http://bobapunk.homestead.com/files/Images/firestar45acp.jpg This thing is HEAVY for its size, but that makes it a pretty soft shooter for its size. ETA, pg 2 belongs to my Firestar!!! BTW, is there a way to mod these to have drop-free mags? If it is anything like the STAR BM, I doubt it is, but with the BM I just took the handgrips off and pulled out that stupid trigger catch that prevents you from shooting the pistol without the mag in it. Mags drop free no problem now. |
