I have the Ruger American COMPACT version in 9mm. 17 round mag, and 12 round mag. Awesome handgun, don't get me wrong, it's incredible. Built like a tank, 100% fully ambidextrous too. With that said... Does anyone know what Ruger used for the recoil spring? I mean, Jesus Christ on a bogo stick... My beloved 1911 .45 ACP isn't this tough to disassemble & clean! I mean like, holy crap Ruger, you got a 117 lb recoil spring in there? I'm no 98lb Charles Atlas weakling that we remember from the comics, but daaaayum... I know it's new and only has a box or two of 9mm through it, and still needs to be broken in. You need the arm strength of Hulk Hogan to disassemble it to clean it!
