Picked up a box of 90gr speer gold dots today in 380. Anyone have any experience with them? All go bang, accuracy?
Do you think they are an adequate carry round? j/k...don't even want to start that discussion.

They are what I carry in my P-3AT.
Typical Gold Dot: low standard deviation on the velocity, tight groups, goes bang. Typical penetration depth in ballistics gel is about 10-11 inches, a bit short of the FBI minimum, but about the best that .380 will do with an expanding bullet. |

The 90 grain Speer Gold Dot .380 is a fine round. They go bang and expand nicely. Sure, they won't penetrate to the FBI minimum, but for the intended role of a .380 (up close, and personal) they work just fine.
I've killed lots of wounded Deer with my LCP using Gold Dots and Hornady XTP's |
