Just bought the wifey a Ruger LCR.... with the Big Dot front sight, by the way. Will the HKS loader for the SP101 work for these new snubbies?
I was just about to order two, on the assumption that they have the same size cylinder as the SPs and the J-frames, but then had a moment of doubt. I figured someone here would know for sure.

My LCR has the Crimson Trace grips.
The HKS speedloader doesn't work well at all. (I put it that way so some one can't say that they made it work. It is so tight it would be quicker to load 5 shells one at a time). So, I tried thinning down the outer diameter with sandpaper. It helped, but not enough. I use a speed strip for a convenient, if slightly slower reload. The standard grip may work well, I haven't tried it though. I like HKS speedloaders, and wanted one to work for my LCR. I didn't get what I wanted. |
